From the Desk Of:
Navy Capt. Roland Fahie, Director, ASBPO
Greetings and happy holidays! Welcome to this edition of Focal Point.
First and foremost, I would like to wish everyone a very happy holiday season. This time of year, it is important to spend time with your loved ones. But remember, the need for blood does not stop. I encourage you to consider making a holiday donation at your local Armed Services Blood Program blood donor center this month. Your gift of lifesaving blood is priceless for ill or injured service members, veterans and their families worldwide. Help us ensure that our patients have safe, potent and quality blood available whenever and wherever it is needed the most this holiday season. Make the connection, donate blood.
In this issue, we take a closer look at the upcoming U.S. Military Academy at West Point blood drive, see how a husband and wife duo are saving lives together and check in with the Blood Donor Processing Division in Great Lakes, Ill.
2015 was a great year for the military blood program, and we have you -- our donors, volunteers, supporters and staff members -- to thank for that. I know that the best is yet to come, and we are all eagerly looking forward to another great year. See you in 2016!
You are the Armed Services Blood Program.
Respectfully,
Capt. Roland Fahie
