News from the Armed Services Blood Program
Issue No. 83  |  May 26, 2015

From the Desk Of:
Navy Capt. Roland Fahie, Director, ASBPO

Navy Capt. Roland Fahie, ASBP directorGreetings! Welcome to the May edition of Focal Point. In this issue, we follow the travels of the Armed Services Blood Program team across the U.S.

We highlight how collection teams from four ASBP blood donor centers are gearing up to collect blood on Fort Knox, Ky., and how several members of the ASBP marketing team traveled to Denver, Colo., to attend the 2015 ADRP Conference. We also feature the Kendrick Memorial Blood Center's travels to Robins Air Force Base to thank some very dedicated donors, and find out how the Armed Services Blood Bank Center in Bethesda, Md., is going to start commuting to new blood drive locations in state-of-the-art style.

Lastly, I want to encourage everyone to donate who is able to this summer. Remember, the summer months are in full-swing and that means that service members are on leave, families are vacationing and the blood supply must be replenished as blood is perishable, while the need is not. Donate blood today and help us provide blood to ill or injured Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines whenever and wherever they need it the most.

You all are the Armed Services Blood Program!

Respectfully,

Capt. Roland Fahie
