Greetings!

This is Craig Sutton with the April 2014 Fishing Report and it is stuffed to the gills!

This month the team recorded over 80 trips which is by far the record for FishingNosara.

The blue water has moved in very close to shore and that has put the full array of Pacific species in our sights.

Captain Carlos on the 23-foot Adventurer has continued to silence critics and gain converts to the school of Extreme Panga Fishing.

The pocket knife pulled off great Sailfish releases for anglers of all ages:

Captain David is at max speed over on the 26-foot Super panga the Explorer.

He has honed his instincts to a razor's edge and his clients are reaping the rewards.

The Explorer's report is packed with some 50+lbs. Dorados and other great tasting fish...don't miss Shannon Gonzalez' Wahoo, easily the biggest 'hoo of the season so far.

The Super panga also scored countless Sailfish releases this month (left) including several sweet Double Sailfish releases (above).

The flagship Wanderer paced the team this month with the most trips run and billfish released. They scored three Marlin releases and posted several day with double-digit Sailfish releases.

Captain William and First Mate Alex are dialed-in this season and their reports reveal the world-class skills they bring to the water every day.

Don't forget you can always check the FishingNosara Blog for fresh catch updates as they happen.

If you are looking at the summer months I suggest you hurry up at June is almost totally reserved and the superb May-to-August bite will sure attract some big timers.

Don't delay, book your trips today!

Tight Lines y Pura Vida!

FishingNosara Family Update

The biggest news around the campfire this month is the completion of The Discoverer Project.

We put the finishing touches on our new 31-foot T-Craft a few hours before the shipping deadline, but getting her water tested (right) and loaded up was just half the battle.

The journey from an international dock in Puerto Limon back home to Guiones Beach included an overnight, rain-drenched haul across the entire country.

Check out the video of Javier and the boys' adventure home:

The Discoverer will be armed to the teeth with fresh Shimano Tiagra 30W and 50W reels.

It's no secret that the remoteness of Nosara combined with the intense salt and sun have murdered lots of cheap rods and reels.

Consider that we also battle monster fish seven days a week and it is safe to say that if these can survive on our boats, they are certainly ready for your boat back home.

Check out this clip (left) of the Tiagra in action.

Last but certainly not least, we are stoked to introduce our revamped Online Store for all of your FishingNosara Apparel and accessory needs.

The store features secure encrypted credit processing and of course all the little bells and whistles you've come to expect from modern online shopping.

Best of all is that every piece of inventory in the online store is the EXACT same gear worn by our crews...just like our tackle, these threads have been battled-tested against extreme conditions.

Catch of the Month - John Koons
March 27 , 2014

March 27 was a banner day for billfish on the mighty Wanderer. John Koons and his Florida posse were back on board the blue beauty for a day that would see several Sailfish released and one MASSIVE Marlin!

The most junior members of the crew broke the ice with a pair of  excellent Sailfish releases before turning the rods over to the big boys.

Junior pulled off another Sail at noon, and then at 1pm the boys pulled off a Double Sailfish release:

Everyone scored a Sailfish release, but the highlight of the trip came around 3pm.

This big Black Marlin took a lure and tried to run, but Team Koons wasn't hearing any of that!

After a vigorous 20 minute fight the whole team lined up for a picture with nature's toughest predatory fish.

First Mate Alex finished the safe release with his signature move: a small kiss on the bill for this deadly pelagic!

Excellent work by the crew of the famous Wanderer to safely release this fish-of-a-lifetime!

The Adventurer represents a wild idea for fishing in these waters; this 23-foot panga hull is armed with enough horsepower, sunshade, and rod holders to turn skeptics into believers as Captain Carlos continually breaks down the barriers between his clients and big fish!

The Adventurer produced excellent results this month with a wide variety of catches. Check out just a sampling of the inshore morsels that the pocket knife pried up:

This Broomtail Grouper is definitely an exciting addition to the haul.

Yellowfin Tuna, big Dorado, and Wahoo may be offshore species where you come from, but with the nimble Adventurer these fish market scores can be had just 2 miles from the beach.

Of course White Tuna is a staple of our tasty fish routine. These fellas rarely top 15lbs, but every ounce is filled with yummy goodness!

On March 3 Captain Carlos welcomed John Timmerman to the Adventurer for a combination fly-fishing / bottom fishing trip. The fish weren't fooled by the flies, however this GIANT Cubera Snapper could not resisted a double-hooked Bonita dropped to the bottom.

Whoa! That is a true sea monster...excellent work by the unstoppable Captain Carlos and the fearless Adventurer.

Later that week Captain Carlos scored an excellent Cubera Snapper for client Marc Colbert:

Then on March 14 the Adventurer delivered the goods for John Green and his boy. These aren't scale-tippers, but trust me that these White Tunas and Dorados look excellent on the dinner plate.

More nice inshore catches came on March 15 for Captain Carlos. These Dorados will make for some excellent sandwich-sized filets:

On March 18 Ed Showalter brought a group of great anglers from the lake-dotted countryside of west-central Ontario, Canada; this crew is ready to fish HARD with five trips planned this week.

They got off to a fast start with Captain Carlos on the Adventurer with a fine Sailfish release; fitting that this group's youngest angler caught the first billfish from our smallest boat.

Size don't matter in this kind of fight! Great work by Captain Carlos on the safe release.

With the scorecard already marked, this bunch was ready to thaw out in some nice tropical sunshine...looks like everyone is settling in just fine!

The Adventurer has proven that you don't need a big boat to catch big fish down here, but did you know you also don't have to be a big angler?

They little dudes showed a lot of poise on this Sailfish release, backed up by Captain Carlos' cool demeanor on the water.

Captain Carlos finished off the month in style with some great bottom fishing action. Take a gander at this monster Cubera Snapper:

Fantastic action this month delivered by Captain Carlos and the fearless Adventurer!

Captain David and the Explorer are in top form with some great action to report this month.

This 26-foot barroom brawler beats up big fish like a boat twice her size and shows no mercy on the blue water behemoths lurking offshore.

Mate Kevin (right) has shown growth as a boatman that has shocked everyone. He is quickly building a reputation as one of the best Mates in Garza Bay.

Combined with Captain David's prowess at the helm, the Explorer can not be stopped!

On March 3rd we welcomed back our friend Hendrik Engel for three more rounds of billfish bouts.

This lovely Sailfish was a sign of good things to come...Mr. Engel chalked up a bunch of releases on his second trip of the week two days later.

Hendrik has only been fishing with us for about four months but he already has a reputation for lighting up the scoreboard every time he goes out.

March 7 brought six more Sailfish releases for Hendrik Engel and his buddies:

The best part is that this swarm of Sails was released in just five hours of fishing.

Great fishing handling as usual by Mate Kevin, who is showing off our newest piece of FishingNosara gear.

These Incite Brands Hi-Tek Dri-Fits are all the rage in Nosara now...make sure to snap yours up at the FishingNosara Online Store before we run out of the initial batch!

The Explorer is on fire right now and we know to always expect amazing action from the 26-foot Super panga.

The next day we welcomed back FishingNosara Hall of Famer George Shipley to the Explorer.

Waaaaaaay back in February 2011 Mr. Shipley earned enshrinement with the first double billfish day in the history on the then-new Super Panga.

Looks like he remembered the formula!

This double release was the highlight of the day that also featured three solo Sailfish releases:

Plus a real nice Wahoo:

Add a late-day Dorado and you have a feast for this Hall of Famer.

On March 11 John Rozas and Liz Pease returned to Nosara and they were primed for some big time action with their main man Captain David.

These hard-fishing folk hail from New Jersey and they got the action going quick with some sweet Sailfish releases:

Captain David kept them in the thick of the action all day and Mate Kevin hooked these bad boys with great precision.

Check out the sweet fish handling by the Liz and John on these Sailfish.

They have come a long way from their Sailfish releases last year:

Notice how they seem a little apprehensive about handling this bucking billfish? They barely want to lay a finger on the mighty beast.

That was then, this is now:

Looks like John and Liz are trying out for a Mate position on the FishingNosara team!

On March 13 Matt Rich and his party joined the Super Panga for a half-day trip to the blue water, and immediately got the decks bloody with respectable 25lbs. Dorado.

With the appetizer on ice, the main course was served in the form of three big Sailfish releases.

Great work by Mate Kevin to wrangle these monsters for clean, safe releases.

Captain David has blown down the walls of Sailfish City this season and the Super panga's catch numbers are keeping pace with the bigger boats.

His trip on March 13 with client Robert Wood featured five big Sailfish releases and a 50+lbs. Dorado on ice.

Mate Kevin is turning into a fish-handling machine; he brought these billfish in and out of the boat with the smooth skill of a Mate with twice his years.

Most amazing of all is that all this action came on just a 5 hour trip...who knows what could've gone down with a full eight hours?

On March 15 Andrew Tom had a great day on the Explorer punctuated by this glorious Sailfish release:

Great fish handling by Mate Kevin as usual, but how about Captain David balancing on the Super Panga's motor to get these shots...a great fisherman and an acrobat!

The Explorer pulled off a sensational Double Sailfish release with client Bill Kelly on a morning half day in the middle of the month. Check out these amazing shots captured by Captain David:

On March 16 FishingNosara Hall of Famer Dewey Gile returned to the scene of his commemoration: the legendary Explorer with Captain David at the helm!

A few years ago Dewey scored one of the first Marlin releases for the then-new Super panga, and on his return visit he notched eight Sailfish releases!

The highlight came in the afternoon with this Double release...great work by Captain Carlos (on loan from the Adventurer) to safely coordinate this battle and release.

Dewey kept count of his Sails all day long; you think he is lobbying for a second slot in the Hall of Fame?

Jennifer and Shannon Gonzalez torched the blue water creatures with Captain David on March 17.

The Sailfish have been thick recently and the Super Panga capitalized with several super releases.

The only thing that interrupted the Sailifsh swarm was this gargantuan Wahoo:

That is a legitimate deck sweeper!

These tough anglers kept the pedal to the metal with more Sailfish releases to finish off the trip.

Richard and Jean Prowant found out just how effective Super panga fishing can be on March 18 with Captain David and Mate Kevin. These Moorehaven, FL-based anglers strutted their stuff with four Sailfish releases.

Also they scored two nice eating fish: a nice sized Wahoo early in the trip and a beefy Dorado on the back end.

This is the first of three scheduled trips on the Explorer for Richard and Jean...look out for more great action from these Floridians.

Ed Showalter's group mixed up their fishing all week, and on March 21 their time on the Explorer brought a pair of sweet Sailfish releases.

Richard and Jean Prowant scored big again with Captain David on March 22, this time notching the scorecard with two nice Sailfish releases.

They also replenished the food supply with nice 30+lbs. Dorado.

Good times and good eatin' on the legendary Explorer.

That evening the Explorer knocked out a pair of Sailfish on 2.5 hour sunset cruise with client Matt Whitecomb. Check out these beauties:

Great performance from the Super Panga on a short trip is rare; its the rule!

The action on the Explorer stayed solid throughout late March. On the 23rd Henry Passarini and his girls scored Sailfish releases by the handful on a 5-hour morning trip with Captain David.

Captain Carlos filled in the Mate spot and saw to the safe release of all the billfish.

Great fishing action for these Florida gulf anglers on the Costa Rican blue water.

Mallory Haupt tore it up on the Explorer with Captain David and Mate Kevin on March 29. They got crackin' with this excellent Sailfish release:

They would go on to add another wonderful Sailfish release, plus a tasty Dorado for the dinner table:

April Fools' Day was no joke for client Curtis and Liz Coley! These guys put the chokehold on a swarm of Sailfish and didn't let up until the big billfish tapped out.

Captain David tracked a feeding school of fish and that led to four big Sails on the trip, with Mate Kevin seeing to the safe release of all billfish.

These Jacksonville anglers showed off the dominance that has made Northeast Florida legendary in these waters.

"Dear Craig and Matty,"

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"Curtis and I had a "once in a lifetime" trip to your place in Nosara! The fishing trips were fabulous with Capt. David & Kevin on the barroom brawler Explorer (10 sails total for Chuck) and Capt. Carlos on the "pocket knife" Adventurer.

"I caught 3 sails on the Explorer and five bonitas and one tuna on the Adventurer. What a special treat to see the beautiful reefs jut out of the Blue Pacific (which I had never seen before)."

"We also took a horseback ride with Rafael and had lunch with Jesus, his Mama. She prepared a delicious native lunch, and it was a pleasure meeting them both."

"Also, Cumi, Marino, Javier and Ahias took great care of us!  I would be remiss without saying how much we adored Freddie and Jenny, too."

"Freddie hauled us to and from the boats to Garza, Jenny did our laundry and cleaned up Casa Jardin during the week, and Jenny had fried chicken as a treat on one of our fishing trips."

"Everyone was very amenable to answering any questions we had.  We put several miles on the Safari Cart, and our transfers to and from the San Jose airport were impeccable. We are one big happy family!"

"It was an amazing adventure which we will always cherish.  You run a top-notch operation, and we will recommend Paradise Rentals & Fishing Nosara to anyone who is headed to Costa Rica."

"Best wishes in your future endeavors and your new boat, the Discoverer.  Thanks again for everything!!"

Liz and Curtis "Chuck" Coley

The mighty Wanderer is the FishingNosara flagship and has earned the title of the top boat in the bay.

The Master Captain William brings decades of experience on this waters while the Super Mate Alex has pioneered new tactics that have turned the world of fishing in Garza on its head.

Together they have built a spotless rep for quality, safety, and results that can not be topped.

Late last month clients Bob and Helen Goins turned in a remarkable performance on the mighty Wanderer with two Marlin releases along with a bunch of Sails.

Helen broke the ice early with a wonderful Striped Marlin release...like most of our CCA NC anglers these folks know what to do with a rod in their hands.

The billfish have been soft-biting so far this season, so the ever-tinkering First Mate Alex has begun to experiment with brightly colored skirts for the ballyhoo.

These did the trick as the Goins group started racking up Sailfish releases in the middle of the day.

The finale was also the highlight as Bob reeled in this awesome Blue Marlin.

Estimated over 300lbs., this is one of the bigger Blue Marlin you'll see around here.

Great work by the Master Captain William and the Super Mate Alex on this amazing day of bill collecting.

Mitch and Jami Price are the latest in a long line of South Florida anglers to whip some fish butt on the Wanderer, and their 6.5 hour trip on the flagship yielded some awesome catches.

They nabbed a pair of Sailfish early, then Jami added this fat Dorado:

She kept the coals burning by adding another two Sailfish releases to round out the trip.

Mitch and Jami Price returned to the Wanderer on March 2 and stepped their game up big time!

Four more Sailfish releases were added to the scorecard, including one high-flying monster for Jami

.

They added some meat for the dinner table with this fine Dorado later in the trip.

Ross Jordan is a tough-as-nails fisherman from Kansas, and based on his performance in early March you'd think that there were blue water breaks in the middle of sunflower fields back home.

They started the day off right with a pair of Sailfish releases, then set there sights on delicious dinnertime Dorados.

Great work by the crew of the mighty flagship and these fine anglers from the Jayhawk state.

The schools of Dorado were in session this month as March 4 saw another excellent Dorado on ice.

March 5 was a double-trip day for Captain William and First Mate Alex, and they delivered the goods two times!

First up was Dave Tewel's group from the hard-fishin' state of Washington for a pair of Sailfish battles.

Captain William swung back to Garza to bid adios to Dave and hola to Johnny Staines and his friends.

They also gathered a pair of Sailfish including this nasty charger:

Drew Honeycutt and his boys started their week of fishing with a bang on board the flagship Wanderer with everybody getting their hands on Pacific Sailfish on March 6.

The action was super-hot all day, but no amount of Sailfish can overwhelm the Master Captain William and the Super First Mate Alex.

These fellas hail from the Tar Heel State and discovered Nosara via the North Carolina Coastal Conservation Association.

They KO'd some nice Sailfish on their first trip aboard the Wanderer, but didn't score any tasty eatin' fish.

Problem solved! What a nice Dorado...an authentic deck-scraper!

With the filets on ice, the boys got back to scoring Sailfish with three excellent releases.

Great work by the mighty Wanderer and these fine Carolina anglers.

On March 10 Drew Honeycutt and his crew followed up their great Sailfish action with a bit of inshore fishing to start their day on the Wanderer. They scored a real nice fish in the form of this 25lbs. Rooster fish.

Once this pez gallo was swimming free, Captain William took the boys back out to Sailfish City for another run at some high-flying action.

They released a pair of Sailfish, but they'll never let go of these great trophy fish memories.

That evening the Wanderer was the classroom for a great bunch of kids getting their first lesson in the blue water marine ecosystem.

Captain William took this family for an up-close look at the inbound Sea Turtle migration to Ostinal.

Later in the evening this little dude scored a nice White Tuna.

Nice way to end the day for the hard-working flagship the Wanderer.

Jon Athan and his friends had a lovely 2.5 hour sunset cruise on the Wanderer on March 11.

In addition to the lovely scenery, they also scored a nice-sized Yellowtail Snapper. Pound-for-pound this is some of the best tasting fish in our area...great work by these young anglers.

On March 14 David Rybas and his boys had a great morning half day trip on the Wanderer punctuated by some excellent Sailfish action.

The whole family was locked on this flying Sailfish, but young Mr. Rybas had the moves to bring this big Sailfish alongside.

On March 15 Tom and Tammy Clymer had a boatload of fun fishing inshore with Captain William on the Wanderer. Our tactic is to stir up a feeding frenzy on one of our inshore reefs, hoping to coax one of the big bottom dwellers out from his hiding spot in the ocean floor.

The trick to this kind of fishing is perseverance and patience; the fish of a lifetime won't be the first one on the hook, but if you invest the time over a good spot then the monster will come calling. Tammy got the action fired up with this Jack Crevelle.

Then young Misses Clymer added another Jack Crevelle:

This activity combined with a few Bonitas getting recycled into the water by First Mate Alex' knife meant that the reef was bound to yield something big.

Something hit Tom Clymer's line like a wrecking ball and bent the rod over like a bullwhip.

BOOM!

Great work by the Clymer family in executing this bottom fishing attack strategy.

Mr. and Mrs. Brian Larsen spanked some Sailfish on March 16 . The flagship has been cooking lately, but this TEN Sailfish release performance is truly world-class.

The action started quick with a pair of 'his and hers' Sailfish releases within the first hour of fishing. A third high-flyer was waiting in line right behind them.

The peak of the day's bite was this Double Sailfish release. Check out this great sequence of the action captured by Captain William:

Clean safe releases as always by First Mate Alex!

The action did not relent for these New Jersey anglers as the day would see several more Sailfish releases, including this high-flyer.

Mrs. Larsen added another pair of releases to the scorecard late in the 8 hour trip.

I don't care who you are, a day like this is a real workout. Fortunately the Larsens were pumped up!

Austin Cunkle and his crew are part of a long line of fantastic fishermen who've visited us from Northeast Florida. These Atlantic Beach folks know what to do with a big fish on the line, and their March 17th trip on the famous Wanderer proved it with several super Sailfish releases.

After two quick releases to break the ice, this posse hooked-up two Sailfish simultaneously and set the table for an awesome afternoon.

First Mate Alex smoothly handled and released both fish, and in no-time flat another pair of Sailfish hit the spread:

Two more late-day Sailfish delivered the final send-off for Austin and the boys, and put the bow on a perfect day of billfishing.

Jennifer and Shannon Gonzalez enlisted Captain William and the Wanderer on March 18 for a return trip to Sailfish City. The blue water was fruitful for these Tampa-area anglers as they stacked up Sailfish releases with great precision.

First Mate Alex had his work cut out for him wrangling these sea monsters; check out the look on Jennifer's face when this bucking beast was brought up:

All the billfish were safely released care of the excellent First Mate Alex. Seems like the Sailfish got more aggressive at the day wore on...you'd think the first four Sailfish would spread the word to the others not to mess with the best!

The highlight of the trip was a Double sailfish hook-up that led to a thrilling release!

On March 19 Scott Greiner and his crew stepped aboard the Wanderer with dreams of billfish, and Captain William snapped them awake with six lovely Sailfish releases on a 6.5 hour trip.

The ladies started off the action with a pair of Sailfish released early in the trip.

The boys held their own with three total releases; one per man.

The walk-off shot was the largest and most brightly colored of the day.

Great work by First Mate Alex in seeing to the safe release of all six specimens.

After getting acclimated to the blue water on the Adventurer, Ed Showalter and his group boarded the Wanderer for their first trip to Sailfish City on March 20.

Captain William followed the porpoise schools to the feeding grounds, while First Mate Alex prepared an irresistible spread.

Right on cue, this high-flying beauty hit the hook and the fight was on! Laura belted up for the fight as the crew of the Wanderer put the moves on this high-flying Sailfish.

Laura did a great job keeping this animal under control as it zig-zagged to both sides of the boat.

Another excellent release by First Mate Alex and a nice notch on Team Showalter's scorecard.

Bob Goins left the ladies at home for his second trip of the week and led the boys on a fishing mission to Sailfish City. Captain William found the fish and they hooked up a Sailfish right off the bat.

No gloves, huh Alex? It's safe to say that First Mate Alex is in mid-season form with all the Sailfish releases this month!

These North Carolina anglers totaled four Sailfish releases on the trip.

Bob's boys also added a pair of Dorados which should make the wives happy that the bacon is being brought home.

FishingNosara is the first choice for Family Fishing in Costa Rica, and we are honored to be chosen by so many parents to show their kids a great experience on the water.

Check out the family Double Sailfish release scored by client Brad Ferris and his clan.

Hectic action on the Wanderer made smooth by Captain William and First Mate Alex. Both fish released safely and these kids got a great fishing memory to last a lifetime.

On March 21 Captain William stayed inshore on a morning  trip with Scott and Adam Greiner.

The ladies stole the show with some early action on the planer / spoon rig; these Jack Crevalles aren't great eating fish on their own but these catches were the first stirrings of a feeding frenzy that would see a bunch of tasty White Tunas on the sushi platter.

Our custom Poseidon fishing rods are performing well paired with Penn 7500 and 5500 spinners.

White Tuna are amazing on the sushi plate or in the frying pan, and it looks like a good fish fry is going down tonight at the Greiners' place.

There is a crazy thing about 'fishing momentum'...once it starts it doesn't seem to stop!

After two successful trips earlier in the week, Scott Greiner and his group knocked it out of the park on March 23 with FIFTEEN Sailfish release on just a 5 hour trip.

The action was primed from the morning trip with Ed Showalter's seven releases, and Captain William knew right where to go to find the fish.

First Mate Alex could barely get the spread back in the water before another Sailfish came calling.

You don't average three fish per hour without a few multiple hook-ups:

The second fish spit the hook about 10 feet from the boat , but the next hook-up occurred minutes later...maybe the same fish?

An afternoon Dorado did little to quench these anglers' thirst for billfish:

They squeezed every drop of daylight out of this legendary trip, catching the last pair of Sailfish just after 5:30pm.

Here's a recap of the Wanderer's day: Two trips, twenty-two Sailfish releases. Kinda makes you rethink what a 'good day' really is on your boat.

Ed Showalter's group kept scoring every time they hit the water.

On March 21 they scored 6 Sailfish releases on a morning half day. That's more than a fish per hour if you're keeping score at home.

Florida fisherman John Koons booked several days with the team this month (see 'Catch of the Month' above), and his trip on March 24 saw a bunch of great Sailfish releases by the whole family.

The boys did great work on the reel to best these big Sailfish.

In the afternoon the grown-ups got in on the action with three additional Sailfish released.

Team Showalter has been gaining momentum at a rapid pace, but nobody saw this one coming....how's 18 Sailfish releases sound?

When the day starts with a double hook-up and release, you know it's going to be a fun day.

Captain William tracked down a whole chorus line of kicking Sailfish and First Mate Alex lined them up like the Rockettes.

One after the other these fired-up Sailfish came pouring into the spread.

After lunch the bite turned white-hot with a second Triple Sailfish Hookup!

Check out some second-tier boats from the area trying to swoop in on Captain William:

Ain't happening bro...The blue beauty kept releasing Sails until the last minute of the 8 hour trip.

It's worth pointing out that all 18 releases were 'clean' meaning that the circle hook was fully released and removed from the fish...a lot of times when you hear of sportfishing teams 'releasing' large numbers of Sailfish that they are using the so-called Snatch release or South Florida release; this technique is safe and quick for the humans but leaves the hook in the fish, meaning a slow death for the billfish.

We don't ever snatch release and it's worth commending First Mate Alex and our other mates on their mastery of the clean release.

Amazing fishing for Team Showalter who once again prove that if you put in the hours on the blue water, the fish will reward your time investment!

Darren Cook and his son knocked out a pair of aggressive billfish today on the mighty Wanderer.

Young Mr. Cook strapped in to battle a Sailfish that charged the boat so hard it almost passed by Captain William's helm station.

After the safe release, Darren found himself in a fight with a day-glo Striped Marlin.

It's fitting for the best boat in the bay to end the month the same way she started with a sweet Marlin release!

Everytime we think that the Wanderer has peaked, Captain William and First Mate Alex put up a month for the ages like this one.

The summer months are starting to book up, especially for the Wanderer. If you are ready to fish with the best, don't delay...book today!

March 23, 2014 - Day 713

Final water test of the Discoverer is complete! She is on the way to Costa Rica right now and we expect to be fishing hard by May 1st.

Check out the farewell voyage up and down the St. John's River in Jacksonville:

April 17, 2014 - Day 736

Howdy all,

Sorry for the radio silence the last two weeks, but the process of importing a finished boat to Costa Rica is beset by many perils: highway hauling, greedy customs agents, and bandits who'd love a new pair of Yamahas, for starters.

However we can rip the lid off the can now: The Discoverer has arrived safely to her new home in Nosara, Costa Rica!

The boat crews have a few details to tidy up (epoxy down the teak wood trip, assemble the outriggers and tackle, detail and wax) but we anticipate fish on in a few days.
