Sierra College Finds Formula to Producing Technicians
With support from employers like Harris & Bruno International in Roseville, the Sierra College Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Collaborative has
established successful student pathways from high school to college to employment as technicians and engineers.
(Rocklin, CA) Within the past few years, over 10 Sierra College students have been hired to work as technicians at Harris & Bruno International.
With manufacturing facilities in Roseville, CA, the company produces the most automated and reliable coating and inking systems for commercial printing presses worldwide.
Through a collaborative effort, Sierra College has found a formula to produce technicians prepared with the skills sought by local employers.

Rocklin, CA-In celebration of African American History Month, Sierra College Rocklin Campus concludes African American History and Cultural Week, with Keynote speaker, Diane Nash, giving an address titled: "The Movements of the '60s: A Legacy for Today." This lecture is free open to the campus community and to the public. Seating is limited.
The Dietrich Theater is located on the Sierra College Rocklin Campus, 5000 Rocklin Road, Rocklin, CA. 95677.
There is a $3 parking fee. Parking permits are available at machines located in the campus parking lot.

Monday February 17th we will have another "Wine and Samplers" evening from 5 to 7 PM. For those of you that are not familiar, on Mondays we follow an old Italian tradition: we serve you "surprise dishes" for a fixed prize so you can relax and enjoy. This Monday Chef Gianfranco and guest chef Stefano will prepare several delicious dishes: Torta di Broccoli (broccoli pie), Vellutata di Zucchini (creamy zucchini soup), Ravioli Frutti di Mare (seafood ravioli), and Arrosto di Maiale Farcito con Patate (roasted pork roll stuffed with mushrooms and served with potatoes). The cost is only 20 dollars per person plus tax and gratuity, including a glass of Chianti or Pinot Grigio.
Tuesday February 18th is "Cioppino Night"! We will offer our generous Cioppino (classic Italian fish and seafood stew) as a special. Our full a la carte menu will be available also.

Grass Valley, CA (February 2014) - The Nevada County One-Stop Business & Career Center is excited to launch a new training program in February to better assist unemployed individuals in the county. The Professional Edge training program and forum, provided through the California Employers Association (CEA), provides dislocated and unemployed professionals with assistance during their career transition by offering resources, skills, and opportunities to successfully gain employment at no cost.
