Join us at New Bo City Market for campaign kickoff event

 Join United Way and the community on Thursday, August 22, 2013, at the New Bo City Market for our annual Campaign Kickoff Event. The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast and a program to follow. We will kick off our 2013 campaign and announce our goal. We will also reveal the pacesetter companies' campaign totals. Benchmark and US Bank are this year's pacesetter companies. Registration is now open and the cost to attend is $5 per person. Reserve your seats today.

Summer Meals for Hungry Children

 United Way is partnering with a number of organizations and programs to help more children access nutritious meals during the summer.
Nearly 12,000 Linn County children are eligible for free and reduced lunch. Approximately 725 Linn County children participated in summer meals daily in 2012.

McKinley Middle School's STEM Academy 2013
|
 United Way of East Central Iowa is partnering with McKinley Middle School over the summer to provide opportunities for students to learn about wind energy and GPS through the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Academy.
Each session is two weeks and includes several field trips to local businesses to learn real-life applications of STEM and do some hands-on practicing.
