Day of Caring Wrap
Volunteers from 53 companies contributed an estimated 5,000 hours on May 9 during United Way's Day of Caring. The estimated total volunteer impact to the community was $110,700.
As a result of these volunteer efforts:
- Three ramps were built to give seniors more independence.
- Several camps are now ready to welcome children for summer programs.
- Many seeds were planted that will produce fresh food for low-income families.
- Over 6,000 students know how to sign up for summer reading programs through the local library.
- Homes were painted and rehabbed.
- Food was sorted and boxed.
