We have received 42 nominations for this year's volunteers of the year. Our Quarton Society Committee selected the finalists in each category and now it's your turn to vote for the winners.  To read about how those finalists give back to the community and to cast your vote click here.

Winners in each category will receive $500 to donate to a nonprofit of their choice and will be announced at our April 26 recognition breakfast.

Highlighted volunteer opportunities

Kids On Course is looking for volunteers fluent in Spanish and interested in working with Hispanic families at Van Buren School 3-5 hours a week. Volunteers will help translate reminders and connect families to service offered through the Cedar Rapids Community School District and in the community. For more information go here
 

The McKinley Book Buddy program is looking for volunteers to read and discuss a novel with a small group of students. Discussion guidelines will be given to volunteers. This experience is to be "low-key" and just an enjoyable reading experience with an adult. This opportunity takes place Thursdays in April from 1-2. To learn more go here.   

 

HACAP is looking for volunteer to fill a short-term project (from April through the end of August 2013). The volunteers will conduct one-on-one interviews of clients at specific partner agencies within our service area. HACAP is looking for individuals who are engaging and have good communication skills. To learn more go here.

 

 

 


Virtual Volunteer Fair
