Again this year, United Way of East Central Iowa is honoring some of our area's outstanding volunteers at an April 26, 2013, Volunteer Recognition event at the Hotel at Kirkwood in southwest Cedar Rapids.
We need your help, however. Please follow this link to nominate somebody.
The awards are open to volunteers throughout United Way's six-county area and recognize outstanding volunteer service.
Winners in each category will receive $500 to donate to a nonprofit of their choice.

Featured Volunteer Opportunies
|
Kids On Course is looking for volunteers to support several of their school programs. Opportunities include academic mentors, special events assistance and help with after-school programs. Hours vary depending on the opportunity. For more information go here.
The Young Parents Network is looking for volunteers to provide childcare on Thursday evenings while parents attend parenting classes. Individuals 14 or older who enjoy working with children can sign up here.
