Celebrates 25 Years

All of us at the Holladay House Bed and Breakfast are ecstatic to announce a heck of a milestone: 25 years of welcoming inn guests through it's doors!

For 25 years, the Holladay House has been a home away from home: celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, creating new memories, and sometimes offering comfort during more somber occasions.

In the 8 years we have been stewards of this beautiful home, we have treasured the gift of friendship created with each and every person who has stayed here.  And we thank you for being part of the history here!

Celebrating our guests every month of 2015!
We can think of no other way to celebrate the inn's 25th anniversary than to spoil the guests that make this possible!  Every month on the 25th, we'll be doing something special for our guests:

January 25th: Rename the Garden Room Contest!  We'll be taking entries through Facebook and email.  We'll post the contest and rules on the 25th!

February 25th: VA craft beer, VA wine and cheese reception

March - all month long: Celebrating your own anniversary?  Take 25% off your second night stay.

April 25th: Get your Elmwood at Sparks appetizers for half-price this evening

2014 Recap
Here's a brief summary of what happened this past year at the inn:
  • One of the best highlights was making USAToday's "Top 40 Hotel Fireplaces in the USA".  Yep, that's right, that gorgeous antique Italian marble fireplace wooed the hearts of the good folks at USAToday :)
  • The Civil War Wedding Commemoration in June was held to a huge crowd! A combination of Holladay family wedding history (and descendants), Chapman family Civil War history and a Civil War fashion show charmed them all!
  • Our August VA craft beer month was so successful with our guests we made it a permanent part of the complimentary perks of staying here at the inn! And yes, we have VA wine out too :D
  • The new Private Winery/Brewery Tour has also been a hit! Folks really love the flexibility built into a private chauffeured tour that lasts for 6 hours.  And the price is definitely right: for the cost of one person's seat on a regular wine tour van, you get the whole vehicle just for two of you!
  • And speaking of wineries, we have partnered with more area wineries for complimentary tasting passes: 13 passes offered to date!
  • Lots of little projects were completed: the Oak Room bathroom got a facelift this year, including some era-appropriate flair; the WiFi network has been fully upgraded; we have new 600-thread count sheets; and the sound system got more sophisticated.
  • Kim is putting out some fantastic blog posts about the area! Take a peek to get ideas of what to do during your next visit!
  • And last, but certainly not least, especially according to her, we now have a cat.  Shadow, the cat that meowed pitifully in the dining room window is now part of the HHBB staff. Shadow agreed to cat-alogue a day in her life at the HHBB here.
