House Projects: Update 2013
To date we have:
* Replaced the roof on the back half of the house with standing seam metal. We were even able to restore our old cornice!
* Refreshed the Green Room entirely - stay tuned for it's new name to celebrate the changes...
* Gutted and rebuilt the bathroom in the Garden Room. It's now a tiled shower masterpiece of a space :)
Next up: landscaping!

Bacon Steak
That's right - we said bacon steak. Really we could stop there, but to elaborate:
Edwards still hand rubs, dry cures and slow smokes their products over smoldering hickory logs...pretty much the way great grandfather, S. Wallace Edwards, did more than 80 years ago.
Between "bacon steak" and the historic significance, we just couldn't resist...

Festive Festivals!
June 15th Trashy Ribs and Blues Festival
Come listen to the deep blues while feasting on delicious ribs, festival foods, and cold beverages. Specialty ribs, soul food, sides, soda, and water will be available for purchase from local food vendors. Adult beverages will also be available for purchase. Two blocks from the inn!
July 4 - 7 Independence Day Events
* 4th: Day-long series of fun in Culpeper
* 4th: Keswick Winery Reds, Whites and Blues Festival
* 5th: HOLLADAY HOUSE ANNUAL "HOPS AND CHOPS" DINNER EVENT
* 6th: Orange County fireworks
* 7th: Music concert at historic Salubria
July 25 - 27 Orange County Fair
Old fashioned County Fair without all the noise of carnival rides. Activities, concerts and entertainment centered around a rural way of living.
August 10 edible Food Festival
One block from the inn, enjoy an amazing celebration of regional handcrafted and artisanal foods! Put on in conjunction with the edible Blue Ridge magazine, this festival highlights the farm to table movement. Food vendors, chef demonstrations, topical speakers and seriously good music and food abound. From 10a - 6p, $7 admission to everything!Book online here!

Sunset Kayaking Package
No experience necessary! Let American Canoe Association certified kayak instructor, Beth, teach you basic kayaking skills and lead you on a leisurely journey down the Rapidan River. As the sun sets, get a chance to view nesting eagles, great blue and green herons, otters, deer and other wildlife. This is also a unique way of viewing the flora and fauna of the region! The meandering river is mostly flat with mild rapids to test out your newfound kayaking skills.
