Happy 2013! Children In Film is excited to announce this year's theme: A Celebration of Success. This year CIF celebrates five successful years after the launch of our interactive website, and these past five years have been filled with member-success stories that we want you to hear about. Furthermore, we want you to become our next success story.  So whether you're just getting started in the industry or you've been a working minor in entertainment for quite some time, we've got something for you this year.  

Each month our calendar will be packed to the brim with networking and VIP events, our newsletters will be filled with informative tips and tricks, and our ever-growing membership directory will continue to allow click-of-the-button access to the industry pros you need to know.  This will allow you to achieve success and celebrate your accomplishments along the way. 

Work Hard, Play Hard 

As you're probably well aware, there are many young people who aspire to become working, paid performers. It is a position within show business that many covet due to the appeal of fame, wealth and a glamorous lifestyle. Additionally, performers are often perceived as successful people who work very hard at their craft, but also get to play hard along the way. But you may also be aware that the limelight has a way of casting shadows, and in these shadows lie the tough-hitting issues that the "get-famous-quick" websites and programs aren't willing (or equipped) to address.  

In 2013, Children In Film is going to shed some light on all of these areas. We'll help you on your personal path to success via events, networking opportunities, industry news and member-stories.  Yes, we agree this industry is more than what you know - it's who you know- so, we'll load you up with the information, and have you shaking hands and exchanging messages with the successful pros who can help you achieve your desires within your career.  But we won't stop there...

We'll also continue to help parents responsibly prepare for some of the pitfalls that may come up along the way. So while we're educating you on how to secure representation and ace casting calls, we'll also be discussing important concepts like avoiding scams, dealing with rejection, managing expectations, healthy gossip and earnership. 

At Children In Film, our mission is to help you achieve your goals, but we're also dedicated to raising up healthy, contributing members of society because in our minds, that truly is success.  So, with a little elbow grease and a dash of glitz-and-glam along the way, Children In Film hopes to make 2013 your most successful year yet!
