About the Washington Conservatory Orchestra
WCO offers adult amateur musicians a chance to learn and perform traditional and unusual orchestral literature with like-minded colleagues in a friendly, professional atmosphere. Anchored by skilled and experienced string, wind and brass players, it also includes string players with more modest skills or little orchestra experience. WCO presents free hour-long concerts in December, February, and June each year, followed by a player-provided reception. The Conservatory does not charge WCO members tuition, but encourages players to support WCO through tax-deductible contributions.
The orchestra rehearses on Tuesday evenings, 7:45-9:15 at the Church of the Annunciation on Massachusetts Ave NW.
We welcome inquiries from prospective players-particularly for viola, cello, and bass and in all brass sections. For more information or to indicate interest, send an email to our Personnel Manager.
