New Registration Process for Returning Students of Washington Conservatory of Music - Register By June 30.

Dear Parents and Students of the Washington Conservatory,

Thank you for being part of the Washington Conservatory family and choosing WCM as your musical home!  Congratulations for the steps taken this year on your musical journey.

As we end another year of lessons and classes, please take a moment to read these important time-sensitive announcements.

  • Semester end: The spring semester at WCM ended yesterday, Monday, June 16, with make-up days (if you are owed any) immediately following.
  • Enroll now for fall:  Please enroll now for fall lessons, to avoid disappointment in September, hearing that your teacher's schedule is full.  As a courtesy to current students, your current lesson time will be held until the end of June However, after July 1, all lesson slots will be open to returning and new students on a first-come basis.
  • New! WCM now offers convenient online registration for returning students!
  • If you don't know your fall schedule, please register now, anyway.  That will secure a place in your teacher's schedule.  In the unlikely event a lesson time cannot be found that works for you and your teacher, don't worry!  WCM will gladly schedule you with another WCM teacher, or give you a  full tuition refund.
  • Fall semester lessons begins August 31. I am happy to announce that, though our costs have continued to rise, tuition is rising only a modest $1 to $3 per lesson in 2015/16 - still significantly less than other area musical institutions.
  • If you cannot return for lessons in the fall, we'll miss you and send you all best wishes. We do ask that you please drop us an email ([email protected]), so that your lesson time may be offered to others.   Thanks.
  • Summer lessons: Staying in the DC area?  If so, I encourage you to schedule summer lessons. (Any number of lessons agreed by you and your teacher.) It is often in summer - when there is more time to practice - the best musical progress occurs!  If your teacher is unavailable, we are glad to arrange for you to take lessons with a summer teacher.  Our faculty are happy to have you study with their WCM colleagues! Also consider the fun of trying a new instrument, just for summer!
  • Are young ones in your family or neighborhood?  Consider our wonderful 6-week  Sunshine Music Time at Glen Echo Park for caregiver, child, and siblings, too - up to age 5! - two options: Tuesdays or Thursday.

  • 5-day WCM SUMMER MUSIC CAMPS at Glen Echo Park:  Try out a new instrument or sing just for fun this summer!  Camps meet Mon. -  Fri., 9 am to 3 pm at WCM at Glen Echo Park!
    • (Aftercare 3 pm activities also available, through Glen Echo Park.)
