Award-winning pianist Orion Weiss, who will appear in an upcoming performance at the Kennedy Center presented
by Washington Performing Arts, will present a master class on Mon., Nov. 10. What's a Master Class? It's a way can be a "fly on the wall" while a master musician shares thoughts on music-making with a student performer. We thank Washington Performing Arts for this extraordinary opportunity. Please join us!

SAVE THE DATE - November 22 at 8 pm - for a very special evening when the mother/daughter artistic duo of pianist, Dionne Laufman and actor Robin Weigert through music and words takes us on a reflective life journey.

Don't miss a special evening of music and poetry when Emmy nominated actress Robin Weigert of HBO's "Deadwood" joins her mother, pianist and WCM co-founder Dionne Laufman, for this a world premiere performance

A small book of poems published after her early death is the only written record left of Marilyn Joselit Laufman, who was Robin Weigert's grandmother and Dionne Laufman's mother. Robin and Dionne use the magic of music and recitation to conjure Marilyn, a woman whose unique artistry as a poet, dancer and mother is sewn inexorably into Robin's and Dionne's relationship with their art forms and each other. As a result, the evening becomes three generations of women talking with one another through three different art forms.

Poetry will include selections from Dickinson, Whitman, Thoreau, Kerouac, Neruda and others. Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Chopin, Schumann and Gershwin are some of the composers whose work will be performed by Ms. Laufman in juxtaposition to the poetry.

Join the performers for a special post-concert Q & A session and wine & dessert reception in our social hall.
