A multi-talented musician, David McDonald, besides a marimba soloist, is the drummer with the legendary Airmen of Note, The United States Air Force Band, Washington, DC. McDonald received his Bachelor of Music degree in percussion performance from DePaul University and attended New England Conservatory of Music.As drummer with the DePaul Jazz Ensemble, McDonald played on live recordings with Phil Woods and Bobby Shew and performed aboard the 2nd Annual Jazz Times Jazz Party at Sea, accompanying guest artists including Jon Faddis, Steve Turre, James Moody and Fathead Newman.
McDonald has performed with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Concertante di Chicago, Kenosha Symphony, Illinois Philharmonic, New World Symphony, Chicago Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, Rob Parton's Jazz Tech Big Band, Capitol Bones and the Alan Baylock Jazz Orchestra. He toured Japan as a member of the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra. An active performer in the Washington DC area, McDonald is a faculty member at the Washington Conservatory of Music.

Please join us for a Benefit Concert to support special programs of the Washington Conservatory and to celebrate Adkins' long career as Associate Concertmaster and frequent soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra, the 20th Anniversary of the Adkins-Newman Duo and her new affiliation with TCU in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Adkins and Mr. Newman are past Artists-In-Residence at the Washington Conservatory and Mr. Newman is currently a WCM piano faculty member.
