7300 MacArthur Boulevard, Glen Echo, MD ProgramSonata No. 10 in C Major, K 330....Mozart Fantasiestucke, Op. 12 (Mvmt. 1-4)....Schumann Three Preludes....Rachmaninoff G-sharp minor, Op. 32, No. 12 C-sharp minor, Op. 3, No. 2 G minor, Op. 23, No. 5 Five selections from "Fantasy Pieces"....Griswold Rhapsody in Blue....Gershwin A recent Oberlin Conservatory graduate, and an alumnus of Washington Conservatory of Music, Matthew Griswold's prizes include first prize in the Arthur Dann Piano Competition in 2011 and first place in the Arthur Fraser Concerto Competition in 2007. He has performed in the US and Europe, including a performance of the 1st Shostakovich Piano Concerto with the orchestra of Music Fest Perugia (Italy), a solo performance with the South Carolina Philharmonic, a performance of Bach's Concerto for Four Keyboards with the South Carolina Philharmonic, and debuts of his own original compositions. South Carolina's The State called his playing "convincing...with big tone."
Griswold currently studies with Enrique Graf as an Artist Certificate student at the College of Charleston, South Carolina. He studied with Robert Shannon at Oberlin Conservatory and with Michael Adcock at Washington Conservatory of Music. More information:
