Breaking the Wisdom Code
Today I need a volunteer:Give them a Combination Lock and ask them to try to open the lock without the code.
Ask them to keep trying to open the combination lock and after they give up, ask them if they would like the code. After they open the Lock take it and lock it again, ask them to open the lock again and see how long it takes once they know the code. Life gets easier when you know the codes.
In 1942 Code Talkers were used in every major operation involving the Marines in the Pacific theater. Their primary job was to transmit tactical information over telephone and radio. During the invasion of Iwo Jima, six Navajo Code Talkers were operating continuously. They sent more than 800 messages. All of the messages were transmitted without error.
The Navajo Code Talkers were treated with the utmost respect by their fellow marines. Major Howard Connor, who was the signal officer of the Navajos at Iwo Jima, said, "Were it not for the Navajos, the Marines would never have taken Iwo Jima."
The Problems the Devil uses to attack you Has to do with your patterns, but God is ready to use these same patterns using to bless you and destroy the works of Satan!
Once you know the wisdom code you can defeat your enemy just as the code talkers of Iwo Jima.
To put it another way... the thing that the enemy sends into my life or yours to destroy us is the thing God is sending into our lives to deliver us! The thing that was meant for evil will turn and be for our good and the salvation for many lives. (i.e. Joseph)
Anyone can perceive problems. But the ability to see the pattern beneath the problem (The Code) can change everything.
Here is what the enemy does in your life.... He gets you thinking a changeable problem is a permanent pattern. This is what our minds do... this is where we mess up.
Let's look at what you begin to say... something like this: "I'm not a morning person." OK how many of you make statements like that? Me Too! But it is our patterns, Routines that keep us from being a morning person. Let me see if I can explain this. ... Last night you stayed up watching a show, you play on your Electronic devices. You drank caffeinated drinks up till 8: or 9:00 PM. You got up several times through the night to Pee... Yes I did say that. Then it took you a while to get back to sleep.
It is sort of like the thing people say about bad breath, You are generally the last person to know it's your breath that stinks.
Pointing at my head. Our patterns are codes, but unless you can translate the code you begin to believe your pattern is a permanent situation but your patterns can be changed when you get the adversary out of his Head Quarters.
Proverbs has a code.Once you know it you can recognize the devils patterns and win your victory.
Let's look at some of the words in Proverbs 1-3
Major Themes
Lady Wisdom, Revelation-Knowledge, Living-Understanding.
Throughout Proverbs wisdom is personified with the metaphor of Lady Wisdom, who dispenses revelation-knowledge and living-understanding. Lady Wisdom is a figure of speech for God and His divine wisdom, who invites us to receive the best way to live, the excellent and noble way of life found.
The Fear of the Lord. From the beginning in 1: 7, Proverbs makes it clear that a person gains "the essence of wisdom" and crosses "the threshold of true knowledge" only when we fear the Lord-
The Wise and Fool, Righteous and Wicked. Solomon believes there are basically two different kinds of people in the world: the wise righteous and wicked fools. The wise person possesses God's revelation-knowledge and living-understanding. Therefore, he is prudent, shrewd, insightful, and does what is right because he is righteous, a God-lover. This lover of God in turn is just, peaceful, upright, blameless, good, trustworthy, and kind.
The wicked fool is a completely different person. He is greedy, violent, deceitful, cruel, and speaks perversely- it's no wonder "The Lord detests the lifestyle of the wicked!" (15: 9). As a foolish person, he is described as being gullible, an idiot, self-sufficient, a mocker, lazy, senseless, and rejects revelation-knowledge and living-understanding.
Brilliant Japanese entrepreneur Mikimoto Kōkichi (1858-1954)
Mikimoto was the Father of cultured pearls. Planting grains of sand in the oysters and finding pearls in every oyster after a short season of time. A Smart Entrepreneur.
Dumb Shucker. Shucks 2000 Oysters per day to sometimes find a single Pearl.
Wealth and Poverty. Like many of Solomon's wise sayings, you cannot take one thought on wealth and poverty and apply it to every situation. Instead, Solomon teaches us seven major things about having wealth and being poor, and how wisdom and foolishness affect them both: the righteous are blessed with wealth by God himself; foolishness leads to poverty; fools who have wealth will soon lose it; poverty results from injustice and oppression; the wealthy are called to be generous with their wealth; gaining wisdom is far better than gaining wealth; and the value of wealth is limited.
Consider This
When a child becomes an adult and is still behaving foolishly, it is a shame, a disgrace, and an embarrassment to his parents (Proverbs 10:1; 17:25).
We soon realize it does little good to talk to people who will not listen (Proverbs 23:9).
If we do confront them, then we must be careful how we do it.
Proverbs 26:4-5 says: "Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will be like him [in other words, don't be drawn down to the fool's level.
If we, as adults, have acted as fools and now seek to repent, what do we do?
First, we must fear the LORD and walk in his ways. (Proverbs 1:7). "The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death," (Proverbs 14:27, NIV).
Proverbs 28:26 says:
"He who trusts in himself is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom is kept safe,"
Second, we must seek to listen and learn from God's Word and those who are wise.
Proverbs 8:5 says, "You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, gain understanding," (NIV).
We must remember that everything is not as it appears.
Proverbs 18:13 says, "He who answers before listening-- that is his folly and his shame," (NIV).
Most of us have probably done that at one time or another. Let us not be quick to air our opinions. In the U.S.A. it is part of our culture to make quick value judgments on everything, even about things of which we know little to nothing. We must resist this practice or look foolish.
Proverbs 17:28 says, "Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue," (NIV). We must not speak about things of which we have insufficient knowledge, and we must not slander another person.
Third, we must exercise self control over our anger and actions.
Proverbs 29:11 says, "A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control," (NIV).
We must not plan evil or revenge. Proverbs 30:32 says, "If you have played the fool and exalted yourself, or if you have planned evil, clap your hand over your mouth!" (NIV)
We all have to be careful not to play the part of the fool. It is in our nature to be foolish, to be obstinate at times, to act with anger and irrationality, to speak ugly words to hurt others, and even to do evil. But believers have a new nature that they are to put on like a new set of clothing.
Romans 13:13-14 says, "Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature," (NIV).
Lessons to live by:
- Foolishness starts in childhood. Whether we use corporal punishment or let children experience unhappy consequences for their actions, or a combination of the two, we must discipline them to prevent them from becoming fools and harming themselves and others.
- When dealing with foolish adults, don't be drawn down to their level. Confront them with their own words, and if they will not listen, let them experience life's unhappy consequences. Do not deliver them from their foolish actions.
- Fools who seek to repent should learn to fear the Lord and walk in his ways they should learn to listen to God's Word and others who are wise, reserving judgment and seeking understanding; they should exercise self-control over their anger and actions and put on a new set of spiritual clothes, those of Jesus Christ.
Closing
Proverbs tells us the tail of contrasting patterns and the code for change. When you know the code your life will turn around and the evil self will disappear.
Favor will follow those who have broken the Wisdom code.
