"Deliverance is the Children's Bread"
Matthew 15:22-28
22 And a Canaanite woman from that region came out and
began to cry out, saying, "Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is cruelly demon-possessed."
23 But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, "Send her away, because she keeps shouting at us."
24But He answered and said, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
25But she came and began to bow down before Him, saying, "Lord, help me!" 26And He answered and said, "It is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs."
27But she said, "Yes, Lord; but even the dogs feed on the crumbs which fall from their masters' table."
28 Then Jesus said to her, "O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you wish." And her daughter was healed at once.
1). The slave does not remain in the house forever
John 8: 35 -37 35"The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. 36"So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. 37"I know that you are Abraham's descendants; yet you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you.
2). Demons can't possess believers, but they can gain MASTERY over us in certain area of our lives
(We open the doors to allow them to come in)
3). ILLUS...A thief enters your home. (He doesn't' possess it, but he is in it)
a). Your home is under the influence of the thief.
4). Many Christians don't believe that Christians can be in bondage.
a). BONDAGE: (Douleia)-To bind, the condition of being a slave.
1). we can be bound up by our sin.
2). Jesus died to free us, but we can still allow our sin to bind us.
3). the demonic world uses certain sins in our lives to bind us up.
5). I would like to show you today some evidences in our lives that could indicate possible bondage.
1)-CONTINUED INIQUITY MAY INDICATE BONDAGE.
John. 8:31-36
a). Believers have the WORD to help them see the truth and be set free.
1). He is talking to believers John 8: 31
2). His encouragement is that Jesus' word is important.
3). we need to be sure we accurately divide the Word of God.
b). Many don't think we can be in bondage.
1). These Jews didn't think they were in bondage... (To the Romans)
2). They Picture many Christians who don't believe we can be in bondage while they are in fact in bondage as they speak.
c). Jesus Defines Bondage: (v.34)
1). Everyone who COMMITS Sin is the SLAVE of sin.
a). Who is EVERYONE?
2). COMMITS-to be committed to, to formulate a plan to be committed to something.
a). Do we ever formulate a plan to sin.
b). some sin is by ignorance, but most sin is done well by planning it out. (Thinking about it before doing it)
c). To practice sin.
3). Rom. 6:15-22
Continued iniquity may indicate bondage.
d). Jeremiah mentions possible bondage. Jer. 7:8-11
1). Don't be Deceived, God knows what is going on.
2). you have sin you are in bondage to and come to the temple as though nothing is wrong and you have a right to sin.
3). God says Change, get right. Jesus drove the robber out.
4). We are to drive the robber out of the Temple, our bodies.
e). Continued iniquity may indicate possible bondage.
II)-CONTINUED ILLNESSMAY INDICATE BONDAGE
Luke 13:12 -17
12When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said to her, "Woman, you are freed from your sickness."
13And He laid His hands on her; and immediately she was made erect again and began glorifying God.
14But the synagogue official, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response, "There are six days in which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day."
15But the Lord answered him and said, "You hypocrites, does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the stall and lead him away to water him?
16" And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this bond on the Sabbath day?" 17As He said this, all His opponents were being humiliated; and the entire crowd was rejoicing over all the glorious things being done by Him.
a). Jesus wants to set His people free from their bondage
.
1). He calls out for her to come to Him.
a). He initiated the deliverance.
b). He doesn't want His people in bondage to the
enemy.
c). He is willing set anyone free who comes to Him.
b). Sometimes demons bring sickness to God's people:
1). Not everyone who is sick, is sick by a demon.
2). Sickness can be a tool of the enemy.
a)Luke 13:Context
Jesus Heals a Woman on the Sabbath, a daughter of Abraham ...15But the Lord answered him and said, "You hypocrites, does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the stall and lead him away to water him? 16"And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this bond on the Sabbath day?" 17As He said this, all His opponents were being humiliated; and the entire crowd was rejoicing over all the glorious things being done by Him.
1). Gal. 3:7 Faith and Belief ...7 Therefore, be sure that it is those who are of faith who are sons of Abraham. 8The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "ALL THE NATIONS WILL BE BLESSED IN YOU." 9So then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer.
a- Gal. 3:28 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's descendants, heirs according to promise.
b). If you are not going to walk with the Lord, but with the enemy then you may suffer... (A suffering allowed by God)
1). Deut. 28:58-61
2). (Job) (Peter) (Ahab)---A tool
3)Acts. 10:38
4)Acts 19:11-12
b). If you're going to walk with God, then the enemy may use sickness as a tool to keep you from the will of God.
c). If you suffer from continued illness, ask to Lord to show you if there is bondage of some sort in your life.
1). Humble yourself and come to the Lord, He wants to set you free.
III)-CONTINUED INFLUENCE MAY INDICATE BONDAGE.
Mark 7:24-30
a). She was Syrophoenician---Greek and Phoenician
.
1). She was raised in what became known as the Seat of
Paganism.
2). Jezebel was born and raised there.
3). Syro-phoenician was associated with pride and the occult.
b). Many today can be Syro-phoenician.
1). Deut. 18:9-12
2). They can be prideful thinking that dabbling in the occult is ok.
c). Jesus words indicate a possible problem for Christians. (v.27)
1). Jesus mentions Children. Who are the Children?
a). The Jew first, then the believers.
2). The Dogs,who are the dogs?
a). Rev. 22:14-1--Dogs are the Lost.
b).Phil. 3:2 ---Dogs are the Lost.
d). If this deliverance is for the Children, then we must need it.
