The Way to Secure the New & Living Faith
Text: Hebrews 10:22-25 (KJV)
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Introduction:
This great passage tells us the most wonderful thing. We can now know God...really know Him. We can commune with him and fellowship with him and have his presence and power operating in our lives. The Living God's presence and power can conquer all problems trials and temptation of life that attack us. His presence and power can conquer all the enemies of life including the last enemy , "death." How can we lay hold of this new and living faith....lay hold of the Living God in our lives? This Great passage tells us:
I. (First duty of every believer) Let us draw near to God
a. With a sincere heart
b. With full assurance
c. With a cleansed conscience
d. With a clean body
II. (Second duty of every believer) Let us hold fast to our profession of faith
a. without wavering
b. without duplicity (double mindedness) James 1
III. (Third duty of every believer) Let us stir up one another to love & to do good works
IV. (Fourth duty of every believer) Let us not neglect worshipping together
a. a warning: some have ceased assembling
b. a charge: do not neglect worship
c. a motive: will result in judgment Hebrews 10:26-29
