Without a vision my people perish
By: Dr. Ronald Powell
Proverbs29:18 (NIV)
18 Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; But blessed is the one who heeds wisdom's instruction.
Proverbs 23:7a (KJV)
7a for as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.
The Bible teaches us all that a vision is necessary to keep us moving forward and progressing in life. We can become what we think.
- If you see yourself as "Happy", then your subconscious will work to find things to think about that make you happy.
- If you see yourself successful, your subconscious will work to make you see yourself successful.
- By the same note...people who have a poor self image will stay poor and unsuccessful.
- People who are told there is no cure will think their is no cure, stay sick and most probably die.
No matter where you are staged in life now... Take a mental vacation.
See yourself as more successful, healthier, happy, and your subconscious....(HEART) will begin to take you forward. Do this routinely and nothing will be impossible to you.
If you stop seeing yourself as continually more successful, you will settle into a stage of comfort that will keep you from advancing and will cost you your success in life.
Remember... As you see yourself in your heart...that is what you will be, that is the stage your life will procure for you.
Biblical Warnings about complacency:
1- LUKE 12 :18
18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
|
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
|
20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
2- Matthew 25:14-30 (NIV)
14 "Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag,[a] each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money.
19 "After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. 'Master,' he said, 'you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.'
21 "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'
22 "The man with two bags of gold also came. 'Master,' he said, 'you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.'
23 "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'
24 "Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. 'Master,' he said, 'I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.'
26 "His master replied, 'You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.
28 "'So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. 29 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

Jesus said regarding His preaching, "If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them" (John 13:17).
He even told a woman that hearing and keeping the word of God was a greater blessing than being His own mother (Luke 8:21; 11:28).
And James added that the blessing is for those who hear and do (James 1:25). Make sure you are a doer!
Conclusion
Dear reader, do you love, appreciate, read, and obey the Bible as you should? It is your life. Without it, you will perish. Neglect it to the peril of life and soul. It is your happiness. Exalt it to the joyful blessing of your own life and that of your family. Your fulfillment and happiness in all things both natural and spiritual depend on it.
