Rabbi Denise L. Eger was featured on the HUC-JIR's College Commons Bully Pulpit podcast. As always, her teachings are thought-provoking, engaging and uplifting. What are the challenges Reform Jews face today that were not faced by our predecessors? Is God infallible? What do we do when the modern world looks nothing like the world depicted in the Torah?

Torah helps us navigate the process of living. From acknowledging God's flaws to living with intention, Rabbi Eger gives us a Torah for our times.

The above picture is of Jared Zamora. Jared is 4 years old and currently attending Nueva Generacion's preschool. For the past year, Congregation Kol Ami has  been sponsoring
Jared's education and this bright young boy is thriving!

Jared loves anything with wheels. When we visited his home, he had cut out pictures of all kinds of cars and trucks and taped them to his wall.

Now, he also loves books and is quickly going through all the school's library has at his reading level. Education opens up entire new worlds to children like Jared - worlds full of dreams that can come true.

We want to give Jared another year of education and a library full of new books!

Congregation Kol Ami needs your help to raise funds for the children living in Guatemala. Funds that pay for housing, education and medical treatments.

It is our goal to return this year with the ability to make an even larger impact than before. Donate to our Tikkun Olam service trip and help us improve the Lives of the Children in Guatemala

Our goal is to raise $5,500. and with your help this great mitzvah is possible.

Give now to be the lasting difference in a child's life.

Dear Bookies,

We had a great discussion about The Boston Girl! It was also very engaging to visit about life issues today. We also heard from Diane about her amazing experience on the trip to Cuba.

"Based on our discussion of The Boston Girl, I started reading it a second time.
As predicted, I'm finding more and more things to think about.  Great selection,
great group, and great discussion!" - Book Club member, Nancy Cohen

The next book is Arab Jazz by Karim Miske.

We will meet on Sunday, June 5th @ 2:30 PM at the home of a Kol Ami member, Jane Drucker. Be sure to RSVP for address.

Happy Reading!
