Tobi Rosen and Tara Eisner, who for decades have served our Kol Ami community, are being recognized as this year's Shomer Tzedek "Guardian of Justice" honorees. We couldn't be more proud!

Their beautiful example as a family has touched us all. They are devoted mothers and grandmothers. Their friendship to so many of us has been a source of great comfort and joy.

Their personal dedication to improving our world has led Tara to devote her career to caring for and bettering the lives of hundreds of seniors. Tobi has served on the Kol Ami board for 8 years! Her smiling face and upbeat attitude is well known at our committee meetings, galas, silent auctions and Purim Schpiels. Her hard work has helped make so many of these events successful over the near decade she's given to Kol Ami.

We invite you all to join us in honoring Tara and Tobi at our Supreme Evening Gala!

Kol Ami is excited to have Rabbi Gilad Kariv with us on May 8th speaking on the state of the Reform Movement in Israel.

As we all have been voting for Religious Equality, Gender Equality and Pluralism in the World Zionist Congress elections, we can now hear, first-hand from Rabbi Kariv, how these values are received behind the doors of the Knesset and in the streets of Israel. This very special Shabbat service will give us the opportunity to connect to our counterparts in Reform congregations of Israel. How can we best help? What can we hope for in the next year and in the next fifty years?

As the Executive Director of the Israel Movement for Reform and Progressive Judaism, Rabbi Kariv has worked to expand the Movement, advance its stance among the Israeli public, establish new Reform congregations throughout Israel, and obtain Israeli government recognition of the Movement's activities. His experience and insight should be heard by everyone who cares about a more progressive Israel.

Please join  us Saturday at 3 PM at the Coffee Fix in Studio City for our book club meeting!
We will be discussing Tomorrow There Will Be Apricots.  Even if you have not read the book, join us for coffee & kibbitz and bring recommendations for the next book and meeting location.  Our next meeting is penciled in for June 13th, 2015.

Everyone is welcome to join the book club at any time and we are open to reading many different types of books. Have you been trying to get around to reading a book for some time? Maybe a birthday gift that your friend swears is the "best book they've ever read?" Bring it to Book Club and we'll all read it together!

Have a question? Contact us at staff@kol-ami.org or call 323-606-0996.

Elections and the Annual Congregational Meeting will be held on:
