Trip report: fabulous fortnight in the Highlands

"This was my first exchange and Trish was extremely helpful, providing a lot of information beforehand and during the swap which was very reassuring and helped me to know what to do in return.

It was an amazing location looking out over a sea loch, set in woodland close to the foot of Glencoe. Glencoe is iconic for walkers and climbers and I had always wanted to visit. So at 60, I have made a start on my first seven Munro's. Stood on the top of Ben Nevis, in shorts, knee deep in snow. The maps, books on walking were a great help in planning the walks.

Together with two friends we had an amazing two-weeks, saw the lawn turn blue with bluebells and didn't get to use the wood burner as the weather was so warm. The house is very well equipped and we also enjoyed a couple of special meals out at the Hotel across the road which Trish had recommended." Jane

Q&A what is a non-simultaneous home exchange?

Q: I've seen people mention 'non-simultaneous' home exchanges. What does this mean?

A: Most members swap homes at the same time; however, some members arrange non-simultaneous swaps where they swap homes at different times. This is especially popular with second home owners who don't need to vacate their home to accommodate swap guests. You can search for non-simultaneous swaps by visiting the home swap search page and then ticking the "Non-simultaneous" option from the Type of Exchange menu.
