Ideal base for exploring Vancouver Island and Vancouver

Home Swap in British Columbia "We spent 4 weeks based in Halfmoon Bay. A very relaxing location and an ideal base for exploring the Vancouver and Vancouver Island areas. The views from the cottage are unbelievable and it seemed that every 10 minutes or so there was something else happening on the ocean. We saw otters, sea lions, humming birds, oyster catchers, deer, a hump backed whale, a mother bear and 3 cubs and a whole lot more. In the creek a few miles away we saw salmon spawning and also locally we saw a kayaker tackling the famous Skookumchuik Rapids. The climate here is mild and so we had some very sunny days in September and October with only 2 or 3 wet mornings. This is a perfect haven for wildlife lovers - we loved every minute of it."  Geoff & Anne (HE31860)

  1. Seeing a hump back whale only 20 metres from the cottage
  2. Seeing a mother bear and her 3 cubs
  3. Visiting Whistler - our favourite place in the world so far!
