Trip report splendid Sydney home swap

"We spent a splendid two weeks at Sheena's and Robert's beautiful and comfortable home in North Sydney. We enjoyed the view and the large variety of birds visiting the surrounding trees. Our hosts provided us with lots of neighbourhood information and excellent suggestions of hikes to do and beaches to visit. It was easy to get from their home to Sydney to explore all the things that beautiful city has to offer. BBC1 'Home Away from Home' home swap series now on

For this series, like the first series broadcast last year, the programme makers matched participants and arranged outings for them. Those taking part didn't know where they would be going (all swaps were in the UK), what the home would be like, or what they might be doing before their televised short swap took place. This is not quite like a 'real' home swap when participants make their arrangements directly and know exactly where they are going, but it is an interesting take on the idea of swapping homes.
