"We spent a week at Sarah's beautiful cottage in Lens. Recently restored, the cottage is tastefully decked out and very comfortable. The village is gorgeous and amazingly well situated (in lovely countryside not far from Santiago and some great beaches). Leaving a bag on the village oak tree and returning to find it full of freshly-baked bread was magical. This was a non-simultaneous swap so we were met by Sarah, who was wonderful - so welcoming and helpful (arriving late, we were particularly touched that she had thought to furnish the fridge with delicious local bread, cheese and cake!). There is so much to do in the local area, from exploring Santiago, to spending a day by the river, going to one of the beaches or enjoying the local produce at the nearby market - we could happily have stayed longer.
