"I have recently returned from Ireland having completed my first house swap. My only regret is that I had not registered my house years ago. All those house swaps I have missed!
I met up with family in Dublin and then one of my sisters and her husband travelled with me to Dungarvin on the south east coast of Ireland. An absolutely beautiful spot!
Anne-Marie and Sean (the host couple) could not have been more helpful. They were full of great suggestions which we followed up on. This included terrific places to eat, drives to take and places to visit. Their place was just perfect for our needs and although the weather was not at it's best, we had enough rain free hours each day to keep us on the go and a welcoming wood burning stove to gather around at the end of the day.
Another bonus of the "not perfect" weather was the fantastic cloud formations and the stunning light as the sun shone in the cloud breaks against the nearby hills and mountains. One of the many surprises was the wealth of flower and fauna.
