BlogSpot: Emerald Ash Borer
Now's a great time to cut, split and stack firewood. Next to watching Pittsburgh's professional sports teams (some of them, at least) firewood is one of our favorite fall pastimes.

But watch out for Emerald Ash Borer!

These tiny green beetles are destroying ash trees across the US at an alarming rate. Standing dead ash trees are everywhere in our yards, parks and favorite places. Although ash makes dandy firewood, please don't move it - or any species of firewood - more than a few miles from its source. By doing so, you could be helping these little monsters chew into new territory.
