Spring Break at Rec Centers and Libraries
Are you looking for something fun to keep the kids active over the spring break? Plano Parks and Recreation is offering six programs and camps for children ages 5 to 13 years old. Registrations range in price from $75 to $165 and some include the cost of supplies. Whether your child has a strong artistic side, loves science or is mathly minded, there is something for everyone. Select from Artful Explorations Spring Break Camp (6-13 years), Brainopolis-Gaming Industry (8-13 years), Mad Science: Engineering & Math (6-10 years), Mad Science: Science & Technology (6-10 years), Spring Break Fine Arts Camps (5-13 years) or TMC's Spring Break Camp (7-12 years). All camps are held at the Tom Muehlenbeck Center, except the Fine Arts Camp held at Carpenter Recreation Center. Get specifics about each camp or program, and register through Leisure Online at planoparks.org.

The Plano Public Library System also offers a variety of programs to inspire your child over the break. Each class is 1 to 2 hours in a single day and most are free. With five libraries centrally located around the City, you are bound to find a class close to your home. For students in grades 9 to 12, there is Personal Safety for Teens, a Real World 101 (budgeting) and Teen Jobs Skill Fair. You can even take the whole family for Stargazing @ the Library at Davis Library one evening or a puppet show in the morning and a movie in the afternoon. Many of the classes do not require registration, but you may want to arrive early because it is first come, first serve. Plan your week at the libraries with the current event brochure.
