Interim Fire Chief Named

Deputy Fire Chief Marty Wade has been appointed interim fire chief, effective Jan. 19. The appointment comes after Fire Chief Brian Crawford accepted the position of chief administrative officer for the City of Shreveport, Louisiana. A nationwide search will be conducted to replace Chief Crawford.

Chief Wade joined Plano Fire-Rescue in February 1989 and has spent his entire fire service career here. Rising through the ranks, he was promoted to fire apparatus operator in 1995, lieutenant in 1999, captain in 2001, battalion chief in 2007 and deputy chief in 2013.  Prior to his appointment as interim fire chief, Chief Wade was the deputy chief over the administrative services division.
