2014 ARDA Silent Auction a Great Success!
Thank you to all who participated in the Silent Auction at the 2014 Annual Meeting in Calgary. With your help we were able to raise $1616.23 for the Calgary Food Bank. The Calgary Food Bank is a charitable organization dedicated to gathering and distributing quality emergency food to Calgarians and the agencies that serve them. Their efforts not only focus on feeding those in need, but helping their clients find solutions for why they are experiencing food insecurity.
This is the first year ARDA has donated the proceeds of its Silent Auction. Special thanks go to Matt Graham (Secretary of our Environmental Committee and Director - Environmental Real Estate at BNSF Railway Company) for proposing this new initiative.

In Memoriam
This summer we received news that ARDA Past President (1974-75) Raymond A. Lamberty passed away on April 6th while residing in Florida. His burial and funeral were held in Orland Park, Illinois on April 14, 2014.
Mr. Lamberty, age 84, late of Orland Park, IL and St. Petersburg, FL was the beloved husband of Rose Marie (nee Gerig); loving father of Linda Lamberty, Ellen Lamberty, Theresa (John) Koppers, Donna (Wayne) Bulthuis, Raymond Jr. (Kim) Lamberty, David (Terri) Lamberty, Janet Foreman and Judith (Jack) Lapice; proud grandfather of Tina, Rose Marie, Wayne Jr., Andrew, Matthew, Nicholas, Ann Marie, Raymond III, Tanya, Cody, Daniel, Angela, Kelly, Jamie, John, Randall, Ryan, Teri and the late Eric and Sarah; great-grandfather of 26; caring brother of Kenneth (Rose) Lamberty; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

The American Railway Development Association (ARDA) is a not-for-profit educational trade association founded in 1906 to promote Economic Development, Real Estate Development, Technology, and Environmental Activities of the North American Railroads.
The objectives of the Association are to foster the industrial, real estate, natural resources, market development activities and environmental concerns of the North American railroads; and through the advancement of ideas and education of its members, further promote the effectiveness of railway development and related work.
