| | Duncan Tavares Holding Both Awards Won At the Governors Conference |
Last week, on September 14, 2016, during the annual State of Florida Governor's Conference on Tourism, Visit Florida, the State's destination marketing organization, announced the winners of the Flagler Awards. Named for Henry Flagler, the awards recognize outstanding tourism marketing in Florida. Evaluated on creativity, innovation, production quality and effectiveness, awards were presented to the top three entries in each category.
The Town of Surfside won the top prize, "The Henry", for its inaugural Visitors Guide in the category of Resource / Promotional Material - Consumer. This Visitor Guide was also selected by the eight judges to receive one of the Best In Show Marketing awards.
