Last month we promised follow-up on work to establish an action-oriented program for provider experience with a focus on retention.
First, a big "thank you!" to the more than 200 providers who took part in our survey that we used to gain more insight from you.
Here are some of our biggest take-aways from your feedback:
| Bob Swanson, VP People and Culture, PHMG |
- Providers need to be hired within a shorter time-frame.
- Credentialing and enrolling payers needs to be more efficient.
- You need effective and reliable clinical support (better hiring, development and support of MAs, LPNs and RNs).
- You want flexibility in the schedules you work each week.
- You would like increased and more flexible reimbursement for CME and licensure.
- You want more transparent and two-way communication with administration, i.e., "hear what our challenges are."
A number of initiatives already in progress are remedying some of the issues raised by the survey. For instance, a provider recruitment team led by Aaron Bryant is working on credentialing and payer enrollment. New Provider Orientation is being redesigned. In the arena of support for new providers, a training team recently assembled has the charge of providing caregivers support they need to be more efficient resources. In addition, we are moving forward with all-in-one patient care model to improve the overall patient office visit experience. Our work with CareConnect optimization continues under the leadership of Mike Geist and Kathleen Porter. To see details about these and other initiatives, as well as about feedback from the survey, please check out this interesting slide deck. What's next? We'll be communicating these efforts more broadly across all communities over the next month, with the help of our provider leaders.
As always, we welcome your opinions, thoughts, and suggestions as we strive to improve the overall provider experience at PeaceHealth.
Please reach out with questions.
Thank you!
