| Howard Graman, MD, FACP. PHMG CEO |
Every provider deserves the opportunity to sit down regularly with leadership to discuss how his or her practice is progressing.
That is why, at our recent Associate Medical Director's retreat, we introduced the concept of the Annual Professional Review (APR).
Although some of our physicians and advanced practice clinicians already have been having this type of conversation, we are moving ahead to make it a standard, recurring event.
These meetings will begin happening this spring, with a targeted completion date of June 30, 2015.
The goals of these meetings between the provider and AMD include:
- An opportunity for the provider to share how things are going from their perspective.
- A review of the performance to the metrics we are following based on specialty.
- A mutually agreed upon assessment of what is going well and what may need more attention.
- Joint problem-solving in any areas identified for improvements.
As part of the preparation for these meetings, providers and AMDs will receive a packet with relevant data.
I hope you will embrace the opportunity this represents.
Thank you for all you do in service of our patients!
