As a growing department within PHMG Columbia Network, the Trauma team at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center manages a very busy and fully accredited trauma service.
During their site visit for our recent re-designation as a Level II trauma center, surveyors not only reviewed our services but described the care we and supporting departments provide as "stellar" and "superb."
The Trauma Team was commended for its progression in trauma care within the state of Washington, and for the work on the entire re-designation process. They also noted our exceptional outcomes in the most severely injured patients.
We credit our ability to achieve these high standards through:
- Dedicated leadership, including the efforts of Denise Haun-Taylor, Trauma Program Director
- Evidenced-based policies and guidelines
- Excellent nursing care
- A comprehensive quality improvement program with supporting data
With this type of recognition from the surveyors and our re-designation, we are grateful for our entire team of providers and caregivers at SW. Together we have improved the care we can provide to residents in Southwest Washington communities.
