Now more than ever, caring for patients requires dedication and a willingness to take on tasks not previously part of health care.
Despite a challenging environment, I am more optimistic about our future than ever. That's because PeaceHealth Medical Group is doing the work needed to leapfrog quality of care, patient experience, as well as provider and caregiver experience.
Patient-centered medical home--we call it MyCare Team--is one of the areas where we're making real progress.
Six clinics piloting MyCare Team have built upon the work our early champions of patient-centered medical home who developed areas of innovation and excellence on a small scale. In addition, 30 full-time caregivers are being added to the clinics that are piloting MyCare Team in each network.
When that work is fine-tuned, it will expand across Peacehealth. We expect that expansion to begin for primary care in June 2015.
We know this is a challenging journey. But with a vision for establishing world-class patient-centered care within PHMG, we can be energized in our pursuit.
