Dr. Scott Foster, Medical Director, Specialty Care
"Where are we going from here?" - An important question that many of you have been asking. And one that is hard to answer without taking a look at the year behind us to acknowledge how tough some of it has been. While we were still able to make many significant achievements and continued to uphold our Mission, we've witnessed a pace of change that most have never seen and it certainly took its toll.

Doug Watson, COO/CFO
In listening to the feedback about recent events, there are several themes that emerge: we need to do more to recognize and support the good work that is happening despite the challenges we face; people want to hear specific details about the problems we face; and more collaboration is needed between physicians and operations.

Indeed, these and other comments were the main topics of discussion at the PHMG All Networks retreat a few weeks ago. We and 12 other leaders (7 MDs and 7 operations leaders in total) are working in partnership to guide the direction of the group across our communities. This equal balance is purposeful and necessary, and one that we feel is already having a positive impact on the way we are planning our future.

There is much that could be written here about the details of our discussions and that will come very soon. On behalf of the team, we both want to let you know that your feedback has definitely been heard and taken seriously. You can anticipate many more opportunities for collaboration between operations and physicians, a renewed focus on easing the way for providers and caregivers, and making sure that clinical teams feel recognized for the work they do.

One of the products of our planning is the FY 2015 Operating Plan that outlines the key areas we will focus on to achieve our balanced scorecard of objectives. This plan includes efforts to improve provider and caregiver experience, improve patient satisfaction with our services, improve the measurable quality of the care we provide, and improve our financial performance. In order to be a medical group that we can all be proud of, we must focus on all of these outcomes simultaneously. We hope that you can share in our excitement for the future of PHMG, where together we will do what is needed to make PHMG:
  • A great place to receive care
  • A great place to practice medicine
  • A great place to come to work
