HMA
Breast cancer screening
The Health Maintenance Alert (HMA) for breast cancer screening is based on the recommendations of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) - biennial screening for women 50-75 years of age.

In an organization of our size, we are constantly looking for ways to improve our communication tools. We heard you loud and clear that you'd like to feel more engaged in what's happening in PHMG and throughout PeaceHealth.

Our new website, The Caregiver, launched this week and it's your new destination for PeaceHealth and PHMG news. This website is built with our medical group in mind: it aims to provide news and improve engagement with those directly caring for patients. The Caregiver is accessible beyond the company firewall and it's mobile friendly.

You'll notice The Caregiver offers a number of sections devoted to networks and groups, including a PHMG site. Additionally, providers and caregivers may create online accounts to post comments on articles and to set their preferred homepage.

Our PHMG Weekly newsletter will begin to reflect news posted on The Caregiver. I invite you to check out the new site, visit the FAQs and How-to guide, and register an account on the site.

Dragon coming to a den near you
Ryan Wehmann, PA-C participated in pilot

Dragon recently flew south to Florence clinics following a successful pilot in Longview.

As a voice recognition system, Dragon directly inputs text into Epic, and it eliminates the need to edit and sign transcriptions at a later time.

"Dictated provider documentation does not need to be sent to a transcription service with the use of Dragon; the note is completed and signed immediately with Dragon and there's no delay," said Jay Eisenberg, MD, Chief Medical Information Officer for PeaceHealth. "Front-end voice recognition at the point of care is key to the future of provider documentation."

2014 Pulse Survey
Our online Pulse Survey continues through May 26.

This is a brief, confidential survey in follow-up to the survey in 2012. PHMG providers and Advanced Practice Clinicians received an email on April 28 with a link to log into the survey. If you need assistance, please contact Greta Beard or Pattie Washburn. For more information: Pulse Survey FAQs.

Password for survey: Your first and last initial and six-digit birth date, no spaces, no commas. Example: for John Doe born on January 1, 1969 = jd010169. (Please note the two-digit year for date of birth.)

Not a provider? The Caregiver Experience Pulse Survey is open through May 26.
