Nearly one third of PHMG providers work in hospital settings, so it is important to periodically acknowledge news from our medical centers. There have been some significant milestones lately, such as:
Hospitals are a critical extension of PeaceHealth's service to patients. While some of these news items might not have a direct effect on teams in the clinics, it's good to be aware of developments that could still have bearing on our patients and communities.
One of the beauties of the medical group is that we are often in a position to connect the dots across the continuum of care and support our patients regardless of where they receive care.

Open Enrollment
All caregivers should have received emails about this year's open enrollment, which runs Oct. 28-Nov. 11. For more details, log on to My HR and look for the 2014 open enrollment guide. CARE Award Earlier this month, you should have also received a message from Alan Yordy about the FY14 CARE Award Program. One of the program's goals is for 92% of all caregivers to receive a flu vaccine or record a declination. Other goals support the five-year VISTA measures. You'll hear more from your leaders about the program and how you can help meet the goals. Flu Shots and Resources Check the Flu Info Now site on Crossroads for local shot clinic schedules and support materials to share with patients.

Celebrating MA Contributions
|
Did you know the role of Medical Assistant (MA) has been around (officially) for more than 50 years? It is one of today's fastest growing professions with 100,000+ certified MAs nationwide.
MAs are the special people who help both patients and providers make the most of precious time in the office or surgery. They're the smiling face greeting patients in the waiting room. They're taking vitals. They're teeing up patient records and making it possible for providers to focus on the patient...and so much more.
PHMG is privileged to have 796 MAs serving patients and providers groupwide. In honor of Medical Assistants Week, please thank an MA today!
