Dr. Howard Graman
As the medical group takes on additional responsibilities and a clearer role in the future of how PeaceHealth delivers care, we want to enhance our communications for all medical group caregivers*.

Up to now, we have been sending this weekly message to providers and leaders who are part of or support the group.

Since all PHMG caregivers play an important part in contributing to our success, starting with this issue, we are adding them to the distribution of PHMG Weekly.

I hope that both new and existing readers find it of interest and value. It's meant to be a quick read with relevant, timely items, including big picture information specific to PHMG (as a whole) plus glimpses of who makes up our group from the various corners of our service areas. It's also intended to help unify the entire medical group across all of our locations. (For local news, caregivers can still look to their excellent community resources.)

The best communication isn't a newsletter. Rather it is an ongoing conversation among all of us who are here to carry on the PeaceHealth mission. You bring unique value and perspective to PHMG. I invite you to share it via this or other available communication channels and your local leaders.
*Note:  It has been only very recently that the medical group has been recognized as a distinct operating division, which means our current list of caregivers (who would be considered part of PHMG) might not be as complete as we would like. Until we have the list refined, if you see inadvertent omissions, please send corrections or additions to ltangen@peacehealth.org. And thank you for your understanding.

Leadership Institute
Majority of Academy Participants from PHMG
In a couple of weeks, PeaceHealth's Leadership Institute will get under way with the first Clinical Leadership Academy.

The Academy will include 20 physicians and 22  leaders from across PeaceHealth with the majority from PHMG and outpatient-based clinics. (View participant list.)

Like the entire Leadership Institute, the Clinical Academy is intended to help current and future leaders build skills in a variety of areas such as effective leadership and communication, operational excellence and change leadership. It also includes a component on leading acceleration of clinically effective and safe care.

Throughout the program, participants will apply their new or enhanced skills to current issues. That's good news, given there is no shortage of these kinds of opportunities.

"As a service sector, health care is literally inundated with change. The Leadership Institute will help equip our leaders with tools to help their teams and caregivers navigate and thrive in this environment," said Dr. Howard Graman, PHMG CEO and one of the faculty members for the Clinical Academy.

Aside from the Clinical Academy, the Leadership Institute offers a wide array of resources for leaders and caregivers on many different topics in a variety of formats, including videos, classes, articles and one-of-a-kind events. If you have questions about the Leadership Institute, talk to your manager.
