PeaceHealth Physicians & Providers,
 | Dr. Howard Graman |
We're in the midst of some major milestones for the group. Earlier this week, our clinics in Florence, Oregon began scheduling in Epic. By all accounts, the soft transition has gone well. And we look forward to next Wednesday, May 1, when the providers and staff in that community and support departments begin using the remaining features of PeaceHealth's new ambulatory electronic health record. It's an exciting time. Kent Henriksen and Dr. Mike Geist and their Epic team have done a tremendous job of getting us to this point, with the support of leaders and other caregivers from all networks over the past several months. Thanks to Dr. Ron Shearer and Nena Harvey and the providers and caregivers in Siuslaw for their willingness to pilot and lead things off for the rest of the communities. It's no small thing to juggle learning a new system while adjusting workflows and staying on top of the everyday workload. We all appreciate the extra work. We are sending good thoughts and prayers in their direction for smooth sailing next week.

Epic to Go Live in Florence Next Week
|
PeaceHealth is gearing up to flip the switch to the new Epic ambulatory electronic health record next week in Siuslaw (Florence, Oregon) and in the HIM, PFS and Coding departments. More than 200 caregivers in Florence have completed their education for read/write Epic access and another 200+ caregivers in the local hospital or other facilities have or are receiving training on read-only access to Epic. April's Epic project newsletter gives more details about the go-live milestones and some of the lessons learned so far by the clinics and Epic team. The Epic Command Center has been deployed in the RiverBend Annex in Eugene to support this and the rest of the Epic rollout through 2014. Epic education is also under way for providers and other caregivers in Eugene/Springfield and Cottage Grove. Watch for continued updates. If you have any questions, please talk to your manager or contact your local Epic change manager.
