Kiwimbi staff getting ready to visit schools in the area |
Kiwimbi wants to provide books to as many students as possible even to those who live farther away. Every Friday, Kiwimbi staff members divide into groups of four and bring boxes of books to schools via motorbike while other members walk to nearby schools.
Traveling to outlying schools, Kiwimbi staff promote literacy and a love of reading as well as encourage students to take advantage of its library resource services. To give students access to the public school curriculum and over 200 classics, Kiwimbi offers e-reader training and access to its e-readers, an enormous benefit to schools whose classes often share a handful of text books among 30 to 40 students.
The schools that Kiwimbi visits are extremely welcoming and thankful to Kiwimbi for promoting an opportunity to expand education in their communities.
