Beading and Weaving

Kiwimbi has also started a beading and weaving program with the same purpose as the sewing program - to help encourage self-sufficiency. Below, students display vibrant colored table mats which were crafted in class.
Above, Madam Janet instructs students in the art of beading. The students are preparing napkin rings that will be placed on the table mats.

Opportunity Through Education

We see a world where all people are empowered through education to enrich their lives and reach their fullest potential.

To achieve our vision, we partner with underserved communities world wide to create educational opportunities through locally run learning centers.
Seams Sew Creative!

Madam Bridget, in orange top, leading a Kiwimbi sewing class
The Kiwimbi Sewing Project is up and running. Students started practicing on plain fabric cloth and have advanced to using printed fabric. Madam Bridget and Madam Ann, the Kiwimbi sewing teachers, are hard at work along with the students. The ultimate goal is to produce school uniforms, which can be seen in the photo below.

One of Kiwimbi's ultimate missions is to encourage self-sufficiency. The sewing program teaches the local women of Amagoro a trade, aiding in that endeavor.
