Have you been, for years, walking the Panhandle beaches, or any beaches, collecting your stories, images, metaphors? This workshop will give you a chance to write with intent, to tell your story, whether fiction, non-fiction or poetry, or a mixture of these. We will use exercises, brainstorming and the natural world to create a world in writing which helps us all make meaning in our lives.
In the workshop, we will:
- Discuss the differences and similarities between poetry, fiction, and non-fiction
- Write a "Portrait" exercise to warm up
- Do "field work" observations mid-afternoon and again at sunset
- Break for a snack/dinner break and work on editing
What to bring:
Paper or a spiral notebook, pencil/pen, hat, sunscreen, water, and something to eat for dinner
