Night of Champions
By Stephen Tweed, CSP The other evening, Elizabeth and I were invited to a dinner in honor of the winning athletes from the sports teams at the University of Louisville. Sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at U of L, the evening was an opportunity to meet the athletes, meet the coaches, and support FCA.
If you follow college sports, you know that the
U of L football team beat Florida in the Sugar Bowl, The U of L women's basketball team finished second to UCONN in the NCAA national championship tournament, and the U of L men's team cut down the net and took home the trophy as NCAA basketball champions. Tom Jurich, the U of L Athletic Director has done an amazing job of providing coaches, the facilities, and the support services to attract top athletes from around the world, and the coaches have come through by building championship teams.

Introducing the 2013 Private Duty Benchmarking Study - Reading Between the Data
By Aaron Marcum, Founder of Home Care Pulse and the Annual Benchmarking Study
It is an exciting time to be a part of the private duty home care industry, perhaps one of the fastest growing industries in and outside of healthcare. In fact, based on the profiles of our participants this year, the number of private duty home care agencies has grown by at least 104% since 2007! This kind of growth is not going to change its course anytime soon. In fact, everything points towards its continuation for several years to come due to the increasing need for in-home care by the largest segment of our population, baby boomers.
For some of you, this might be a discouraging statistic. No one faults you for feeling this way. We have all experienced more competition. However, my purpose in writing this article is to provide everyone with the peace of mind to go forward with faith. I learned after many years of attending Sunday School that faith is a principle of action. To take advantage of this huge industry growth over next few years, you must take action and find ways to stand out. This brings me to the purpose of the 2013 Private Duty Benchmarking Study.

Wife of Alleged Boston Marathon Bomber Worked as Home Health Care Aide
By Stephen Tweed
According to the Associated Press and other news sources, Katherine Russell Tsarnaev, the wife of alleged Boston Marathon Bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev was working 70 to 80 hours a week as a home health aide prior to the bombing. While she was at work, her husband cared for their toddler daughter. "When this allegedly was going on, she was working, and had been working all week to support her family," her attorney, Amato DeLuca, told the AP. She said Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the younger brother, was off at college and she saw him "not at all" at the apartment they shared with her mother-in-law. She learned her husband was a suspect in the bombings by seeing it on TV.

By: Stephen Tweed You've heard me say it a hundred times. "What gets measured gets managed, what gets rewarded gets repeated." In the home care business, if you are serious about taking your company to the next level, you need to set very specific financial goals, develop an action plan to achieve those goals, and build a marketing budget to plan your investment. Setting Financial Goals is a key element in the 27 elements of a highly successful home care company, and one that you will want to explore in more detail. Watch the Video...
