Content Marketing is King of the Internet

This past week, I was in Rutland, VT working with a client on their  Private Duty Planning and Coaching process.  At the hotel during breakfast, I picked up a copy of the Rutland Business Journal, and was intrigued by an article by Leon Thompson entitled "Successful Content Marketing: Brand Journalism and the Advertising Business."

The article begins by giving credit to Larry Light, Chief Marketing Officer for McDonalds for coining the phrase "brand journalism" in 2004.  This concept, also known as content marketing, relies on journalism-style narratives to tell a story over time.  It involves businesses providing stories to editors who are short staffed and looking for worthwhile news to print.

What Does This Have to do with Home Care?

Which Social Media Work in Home Care?
According to an article in the January 31, 2013 small business section of the Wall Street Journal, "Six out of 10 small business owners say they believe social media tools are valuable to their  company's growth - but most aren't impressed with Twitter."  Just 3% of 835 business owners surveyed by The Wall Street Journal and Vistage International said Twitter had the most potential to help their companies.

According to the same survey, 41% of those surveyed said LinkedIn has the most potential, followed by You Tube at 16% and Facebook at 14%.

Private Duty 101 Accreditation Workshop from ACHC
Accreditation of private duty home care companies is growing rapidly around the country, and particularly in those states with more rigorous licensure laws.  The leading provider of accreditation for private duty is The Accreditation Commission for Health Care, based in Raleigh, NC.

ACHC will be offering  Private Duty 101: Accreditation Workshop on February 27, 2013 at the new office facility in Raleigh.

Caregiver Quality Assurance Mentioned on Fox Business News Online
A recent article on  How to Pick a Home Health Care Provider, by Donna Fuscaldo on Fox Business online provided a very positive testimonial for the Caregiver Quality Assurance(TM) program from Leading Home Care.

In the article, Ms. Fusacaldo was quoting David Goodman, CEO of Companion Connection Senior Care in reporting that "An AARP study shows that 89% of seniors want to stay at home at all costs.  For someone who has been in their home for 50 years, it's very hard to make the transition to go into a facility."
