Made in America
in New York City is a remodeled church, housing a retail store that harkens back to a time when life was simpler and products were by and large made in America.
Shinola opened its second retail shop in New York last summer. (It's first shop debuted in Detroit.)
The store is worth a visit in its own aesthetic right, even before you peruse the hand-made artisan products. Its minimalist design highlights elements of 1930's industrialism, incorporating treasures that delight the senses. Click here to read more. Or, take a tour with Creative Director Daniel Caudill.
And for some interesting, albeit a bit depressing, information regarding how few clothing items are still made in America, check this segment out, produced by ABC.

Product Profile: Slate-ish
Our designers discovered this super cool-ish product recently. Slate-ish is a material that resembles stone, but is actually made from recycled and reclaimed sources of paper-laminate.
It is lighter than stone, more durable and this Nebraska company makes it in America.
Discovered by accident, and made from scraps, we predict Slate-ish will be very successful (no "ish" about it)!

Client Spotlight: Kashou Carpets
We recently completed a project for Kashou Carpets. Kashou has been enhancing Milwaukee's floors for over a century. Owner Robert Kashou has earned a reputation for quality, integrity and service.
We created a 2014 Trends wall to help Mr. Kashou's customers discover their design style while staying current. Are they looking for shimmer? A vibrant look? Do they want to utilize a pattern or are they going for a handmade look?
The completed wall helps Kashou clients visualize their own space as they navigate the huge selection of carpets located in this East Side Milwaukee institution. Take a peek at the process which created these floor to ceiling vignettes.
