CROCE'S BULLETIN
News for Your Car and Safety
January 2014

The holidays were joyous and fantastic, and we hope that your trips back over the river and through the woods from Grandma's house were safe and worry free. It is a New Year, and we hope you are just as excited as we are!

Protect your li'l Snow Angel

The winter roads can be rather unpredictable. Between other drivers and Mother Nature's temper tantrums, it is imperative that you take steps to protect your children. Here in Connecticut, the law requires all children under 4'9" be restrained in a car seat. When you really think about it, it is a small price to pay to protect your most valuable asset throughout the winter driving season. Remember that as your children grow you will need to adjust or replace the car seat to fit them properly and to ensure the seat is in compliance with the regulations.
Check Your Vehicle & The Roads Before You Go

Winter conditions wreak havoc on the roads throughout the region and this can cause an increase in traffic accidents.
These 3 tips will help make your trip safer:
  • Make sure your vehicle is in good condition and properly serviced before you head out on the roads. Make sure your fluid levels are topped off (oil, transmission, windshield wiper fluid, antifreeze, etc.)

  • Research and pay attention to changing road conditions. Adjust your travel plans and driving accordingly. Remember, just because you may have 4-wheel drive, it does not mean your vehicle isn't at risk for hydroplaning, sliding on the ice, or getting sucked into a snowbank.

  • Stock your car with a roadside emergency kit. Your kit should include blankets, a flashlight, flares, snow chains, and other essentials to help keep you safe in the event the unexpected occurs.
Where To Go In Connecticut This Winter

There are plenty activities to do this winter in the Norwalk area. Among the most popular are skiing at nearby Powder Ridge with its 19 incredible runs, Woodbury with its famous tubing runs, or Sundown where the skiing doesn't stop even when the sun goes down. Each of these resorts is a great place for you to go cruising down the slopes with your family this season. You can also head out and go snowshoeing in Litchfield, or on those really cold days you could spend them indoors enjoying the exhibits at The Maritime Aquarium.

I was extremely pleased with the caring attention my car and I received at Croce's. Tony was patient and took his time explaining to me exactly what was wrong with my car and the options we might have to repair, rebuild or replace the transmission. I feel that the price I paid was reasonable and the attention I received was priceless! Thank you Croce's!! - nancyo

Croce's was recommended to me by my long-time mechanic. They proved themselves to me with a complicated transmission job and constant communication and updates. The project was pricey, but the cost was the same as others and far less than the dealer's quote. - michaelp
