[New Scholars] New College Highlights Student Research

Are attractive women seen as more or less competent than their less attractive colleagues? Does playing video games improve adults' visual perception? Can protein mapping and new neuroimaging technology provide better ways to identify mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and PTSD, common problems in combat veterans?
The answers to those questions - and over 60 more - are in research projects by students at New College of Florida, and will be presented in [New Scholars] New College, a day-long event Thursday, May 23, at the Sudakoff Conference Center.

Ryan Feller, a second-year student at New College of Florida, spends his spare time fixing bikes and giving them away to the region's needy. With his interest in transportation policy, he knows that flexible, low-cost means of getting around can be crucial for people in entry-level jobs.
