New College to Host 3rd Annual International Careers Seminar
| | Local college students, high school students and young professionals will learn about international careers at the third annual International Career Development Seminar on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, followed by an informal networking session with the speakers. The event, which is co-hosted by Young Professionals for International Cooperation (UNA-USA) Sarasota Chapter and New College of Florida, will be held at New College's Sudakoff Conference Center at 5845 General Dougher Place, one traffic light north of the intersection of University Parkway and N. Tamiami Trail (U.S. 41).

At the third annual 2012 International Career Development Seminar, experts from international business and governmental agencies will talk about their experiences. They'll also share their insights on opportunities for high school juniors and seniors, college students and young professionals interested in pursuing international careers. The event runs from 8:30 am to 3 pm with panel discussions and breakout Q&A sessions followed by informal networking.

The documentary film A Small Act is compelling in its debate for education as a basic human right. The film was the top pick at the Sundance Festival in 2010 and was featured last year as an HBO Premiere. The underlying premise is simple and profound: that one can change the world through a simple act of kindness.
